Privacy Policy

FUBT collects no data. Full stop.

Last updated: July 25, 2026

This policy explains exactly what the FUBT (Poison My Data) Chrome extension does, why it needs the permissions it asks for, and what happens to any information it touches. Short version: nothing leaves your browser.

The 30-second version

  • FUBT does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or account information.
  • All activity generated by FUBT happens locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.
  • FUBT has no server, no analytics, and no account system. There is nothing for us to store, because we don't run any backend.
  • Any settings you choose (platforms, schedule, intensity) are saved only in your browser's local storage.

What FUBT does

FUBT is a Chrome extension that generates harmless, randomised background activity — searches, scrolls, likes, and similar low-impact interactions — on a set of supported websites, while you're browsing them. The goal is to add noise to behavioural tracking, not to collect information from you or about you.

Data we collect: none

FUBT does not collect personal information of any kind. That includes, but is not limited to:

  • Names, email addresses, or account credentials
  • Browsing history or search queries you make
  • Content of pages you visit, posts you write, or messages you send
  • Location, device identifiers, or analytics/telemetry of any kind

FUBT does not use any remote server, so there is no database where such information could be sent even if we wanted it to be. Everything the extension does runs locally inside your browser.

Where your settings live

Your FUBT preferences (which platforms are enabled, how often noise is generated, and similar options) are saved using Chrome's local storage API. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is removed automatically if you uninstall the extension.

Why FUBT asks for each permission

Chrome requires every extension to justify its permissions. Here's what each one is used for and, importantly, what it is not used for:

Permission Purpose
storage Saves your on/off preferences and schedule locally in the browser. Never synced to a remote server.
tabs Lets FUBT recognise which supported site a tab belongs to, so it only runs on sites you've enabled. Does not read tab content or history.
scripting Injects the content scripts that generate randomised, harmless interactions on supported pages.
alarms Schedules background activity at randomised intervals so it runs periodically without needing the extension popup open.
host_permissions Restricted to the specific supported sites below. Required so FUBT's content scripts can run on those domains — FUBT does not read, log, or transmit the content of the pages you visit.
web_accessible_resources Exposes small local JSON data files (used to generate randomised, believable interactions) so content scripts can load them. These files ship with the extension and are not used to send or receive data.

Supported sites

FUBT's content scripts run only on the following domains, and only to generate the randomised activity described above:

Facebook Instagram X / Twitter Bluesky Reddit LinkedIn YouTube Google Search Bing ChatGPT

Third parties

FUBT does not share data with third parties because it does not collect data in the first place. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services bundled with this extension.

Children's privacy

FUBT is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, since it does not collect information from any user at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change too. Material changes — such as if FUBT were ever to begin collecting data — would be reflected here first.
